Leadership

When you hear the word “leadership,” you might associate it with being in charge. However, as a career skill, it’s more than just telling other people what to do. Leadership involves being able to recognize your strengths and those of your team and take advantage of those strengths to achieve organizational goals.[1]

Here are some examples of behavior that demonstrate leadership:

  • Persuading and motivating others to work towards a shared goal
  • Using feedback to evaluate and improve the actions that you take
  • Thinking creatively, or outside the box
  • Serving as a mentor or role model

AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps provides a unique chance to make a real impact on issues that matter to you, such as education, disaster relief, health, and the environment.
