The Oxford Comma
You might not expect a tiny comma to stir up strong opinions—but the Oxford comma has been causing controversy in the writing world for decades. Also known as the serial comma, it’s the comma placed before the final and or or in a list.
Some style guides insist you must use it. Others say it’s optional. Who’s right? What do you prefer?
